Psalm 72:17-20 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed. Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen. The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

Here is a series of messages that I got from my friend SailorWriter. For context, they say that they are being tempted to perform sin. Based on this information, the Bible makes it clear that must avoid sin. They say that the fictional (meaning fake) franchise of Touhou may be leading them to sin. Even though I am a Touhou fan, at the end of the day, Touhou, like Star Wars, or any other fictional series, is fake. The most important thing is the Lord my friends.

Zephaniah 3:15 The Lord hath taken away thy judgments,

he hath cast out thine enemy:

the King of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee:

thou shalt not see evil any more.

And therefore, truly, all people will become believers in Christ and be permanently saved. All temptation from sin and all sin will go away. Because all people will gain the Holy Spirit. Even now, we have the Holy Ghost who is supporting us and helping us resist the forces of evil and temptation my friends. Time of writing April 10 2023.

Hebrews 2:5-9: "Now it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking. It has been testified somewhere, "What is man, that you are mindful of Him, or the son of man, that you care for Him? You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned Him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under His feet."

I guess when I consume touhou content, I tend to have some kind of temptation. Maybe next Sunday I'll return to it and do the fanfic.

Ah, I see. Since you have this temptation when consuming Touhou content, it makes me wonder if you also have this kind of temptation with other types of content. Or maybe it's just Touhou in particular?

Yes, it may be good to take a break from it until the Sunday coming up, just to see how your mood changes. You can contrast the differences between when you're consuming Touhou content versus when you're not consuming Touhou content.

I think this issue is related to the "Pink Elephant Problem" as some call it.

Specifically, if you were told to not think of a Pink Elephant... you end up thinking about the Pink Elephant. Why? Because you're thinking of not thinking about it. ... If that makes sense.

It's the same thing with Touhou. That's why in my messages above, I mentioned how it's your choice. Thus, in order to get Touhou unstuck from your mind, you would have to

Both:

Do not think of Touhou.

Do not try to not think of Touhou.

I have symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), so I'm familiar with the idea of thoughts being stuck to your mind. The best thing to do is, when you see the thought, just... let it pass through you. Don't react to it. It's like an Internet troll who could purposely insult you, trying to get you angry, the Devil could try and get a reaction from you.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

In terms of temptation from sin, God tells us to resist the Devil specifically.

James 4:7 - Drawing Near to God

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Resist

ἀντίστητε (antistēte)

Verb - Aorist Imperative Active - 2nd Person Plural

Strong's 436: To set against; I withstand, resist, oppose. From anti and histemi; to stand against,

This is a defensive position. For a temptation to sin, the forces of evil could be attacking you. However, eventually they will stop attacking. So, think of it like running a marathon.

Philippians 3:14 Like a man running a race

If you sprint right at the beginning and lose all your energy, you may not have enough to reach the end. So, it's important to pace yourself. Remember that Jesus was also tempted by the Devil and that He did not sin. And Jesus is by your side now, helping you too my friend. And eventually, all sin will be washed away, and all these temptations will pass alongside all former things with the coming of New Jerusalem, amen.

[LAMENTATIONS 3:31-33 For men are not cast off by the Lord forever. Though he may punish cruelly, yet he will have compassion in the fullness of his love; he does not willingly afflict or punish any mortal man. ]

[EZEKIEL 18:23 Have I any desire, says the Lord God, for the death of a wicked man? Will I not rather that he should mend his ways and live? ]
