in terms of evolution, currently as of Aug 21 2023 based on how its described here I believe it makes sense

https://www.crossway.org/articles/what-is-theistic-evolution/

I am completely against atheistic evolution, or really anything atheistic, but we can see that theistic evolution is a model that can fit within scripture and its something I can personally believe as true

For me, I do a lot of reading on r/collapse about climate change. So I completely agree that climate change is real. Yet, stemming from that, should I not also believe in a form of scientific evolution due to the scientific evidence?

Heres a post from r/collapse

https://www.reddit.com/r/collapse/comments/13tp0fn/christian_curriculum_using_textbooks_that_deny/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

Christian curriculum using textbooks that deny climate change and say evolution is impossible

Related to collapse because, according to Accelerated Christian Education, an American Christian Education company which produces the Accelerated Christian Education school curriculum structured around a literal interpretation of the Bible.

Humans don't cause climate change, evolution is impossible, and:

"God has a plan to prepare a new heaven and Earth with a better climate."

end quote

Not all events in the Bible are meant to be take literally, such as the parables in the New Testament. As a Christina Universalist, I see the story of Lazarus and the Rich Man as a parable as opposed to the literalist infernalist interpretation.

Humans definitely cause climate change, theres so much proof for it. That relates to the crossway article because it shows that scientifically things change over time.

Heres some other scientific collapse posts related to climate change and evolution

I also have gotten myself vaccinated against Covid, so I believe that vaccines can be useful medical tools to keep people protected

Reason I felt compelled to make this was, saw people discussing it today on the Christian Universalist Discord

but also because I have encountered atheists who believe atheism is true because atheistic evolution. Thing is, theistic evolution also literally exists. So evolution doesnt really prove one side or the other, its just a scientific process that exists. at the end of the day, the most important thing is to believe in Christ with faith alone, that's what saves us

heres some good collapse posts too

As one person puts it

SS: As collapse and climate change continue to accelerate, evolution is accelerating along with it as every living thing on this planet struggles to adapt. And the repercussions and changes are going to continue to ripple outward. We've literally changed the course of evolution, and it will only continue to get worse.

end quote

since I use scientific evidence to understand climate change is true, here is evidence that shows both climate change and evolution are true, therefore I can believe in both

Honestly, personally in my opinion here Aug 21 2023 I see theistic evolution as having the strongest evidence. Alright alright, so if you were to point a gun to my head and forced me to choose, then I say that I believe in theistic evolution based on what I've gathered here

Ohhh yeah and heres the one

https://www.reddit.com/r/evolution/comments/15w7vkb/has_the_human_being_undergone_any_anatomical/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

We're going through some changes right now. People are being born without wisdom teeth in increasing numbers, and pinkie toes are sometimes consisting of two main bones instead of three.

end quote

I personally had my wisdom teeth removed, but the fact that wisdom teeth removal is a process is strong evidence in favor of evolution

https://www.kenilworthdentalassociates.com/the-evolutionary-reason-for-wisdom-teeth/#:~:text=Our%20Early%20Ancestors%20Needed%20Wisdom%20Teeth&text=Because%20early%20humans%20needed%20to,grow%20in%20with%20no%20difficulties.

Because early humans needed to chew coarse, hearty foods, they required a broader jaw. Wisdom teeth grew in to give them more chewing power for this purpose. Because the jaw was wider, the wisdom teeth were able to grow in with no difficulties.

the way in which livingthings change and develop over millions of years

Darwin's theory of evolution

maybe im just scared because that means that its been millions of years. it makes me feel bad if one were to suffer millions of tears yet even the older humans they lived for almost a thousand years

Genesis 5:5 NASB

So all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died.

https://biblehub.com/genesis/5-5.htm

so… I feel bad for Adam. because he had to suffer for almost a thousand years. yet that means satan has bee alive for thousands of years since he was there in the garden of eden as the form of the snake. and already my life is so filled with suffering, at least the lifespan was decreased down to around 120 years

https://biblehub.com/genesis/6-3.htm

Genesis 6:3 ESV

Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years

Theistic evolution works as a strong case in favor of Christian Universalism, because why would God only let a person have maybe at most 120 years to live nowadays to become a believer in Christ. It shows that post mortem salvation is a reality, that a person can still believe in Christ to gain permanent life, even after they have already died

Still, I beiieve in scientific information related to the stars

https://science.nasa.gov/astrophysics/focus-areas/how-do-stars-form-and-evolve

A star the size of our Sun requires about 50 million years to mature

end quote

Genesis 1;16 KJB

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

https://biblehub.com/genesis/1-16.htm

So God also created the stars. Through what specific means? Theough theistic evolution.

thinking about it though, that means that there will be millions of years of happiness for us, paradise.

honestly, this post is more of a realization for myself, since I already believed in climate change for years. Unfortunately theres a stigma from a lot of people against evolution, because some naturally associate it with atheism. but now I can see that thats something that, lets say, the forces of evil, would want us to think. trying to frame this fight as evolution vs creation when its creation through evolution. trying to frame it as science vs the bible when the bible is scientifically accurate

wow… that was a cool line. hahhh, but now its 12;46 so i will go to sleep. God bless my friends! :D
