Yeeessss!!! Ok, talk about good timing. Was just answering another friend, can.of.soup's questions about the fallen angels and in all my digging, I didn't find any line in the Bible about "1/3rd of the angels became fallen angels".

I did my own math to try to calculate the percentage and... (quick copy paste from an article I wrote a couple days ago)

Quote

Mark 5:9 And Jesus asked him, ?What is your name?? He replied, ?My name is Legion, for we are many.? (Mark 5:15)

Luke 8:30 Jesus then asked him, ?What is your name?? And he said, ?Legion,? for many demons had entered him.

?Legion? is more than just a title, it?s a reference to a quantity.

Matthew 26:53 Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?

Thus, there can be both legions of demons and legions of angels.

Some history sites tell us that legions were made up of 3 600 to 6 000 men.

    https://www.britannica.com/topic/legion

Since a ?demon? is just an angel who is against God, we can assume a legion of angels and a legion of demons are around the same quantity. With some quick math we can found this out.

    Legion = 3 600 to 6 000 demons

    Fatherly Appeal = 12 * 3 600 or 12 * 6 000 = 43 200 to 72 000 angels

So there?s at least minimum this many demons and angels.

( 6 000 / 72 000 ) * 100 = 8.3333%

So based on these verses it's more like, let's see the fractions and...

1/12 = 0.083333

0.083333 * 100 = 8.3333%

WAIT A MINUTE!!! EUREKA!!!!!!!!! WOW WHAT ok let me calm down for a sec, i hopped out of my chair when i realized this.

1 out of 12 of the angels REBELLED!!!! THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!!!! WOW WOW :D

Remember how many of the disciples rebelled???? Judas Iscariot!

1 out of 12 of the disciples REBELLED!!!!

Matthew 26:14-16

Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus

14 Then one of the Twelve?the one called Judas Iscariot?went to the chief priests 15 and asked, ?What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?? So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

Based on the Legion Gospel accounts and Matthew

Thank you my friend, thank you SO SO MUCH!!! :D This is an AMAZING discovery!!!!!!! Wow, I'm really excited, this is incredible.

Interesting... I think the term is "Hopeful Universalist". Personally, I consider myself a "Convinced Universalist" due to the scriptures I've found. It's certainly a great step forward though! Jesus is Our Blessed Hope and love never fails (1 Cor 13:8)

Also, I have made an exciting new discovery. A EUREKA moment! I've found the exact percentage of fallen angels that rebelled from God out of this total angel population! First, a reference to what I previously told you

Mark 5:9 And Jesus asked him, What is your name He replied, My name is Legion, for we are many.

Matthew 26:53 Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?

Some history sites tell us that legions were made up to 6 000 men.

https://www.britannica.com/topic/legion

Legion = 6 000 fallen angels

Fatherly Appeal = 12 * 6 000 = 72 000 angels

( 6 000 / 72 000 ) * 100 = 8.3333%

What is this in fraction form?

1/12 = 0.083333

0.083333 * 100 = 8.3333%

1 out of 12 of the angels betrayed God!

Matthew 26:14-16

14 Then one of the Twelve the one called Judas Iscariot went to the chief priests 15 and asked, What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

1 out of 12 of the disciples betrayed God!

Judas Isacriot, the disciple that rebelled against the Lord will eventually become a believer in Jesus and be permanently saved.

Satan and all the fallen angels that rebelled against the Lord will eventually become believers in Christ and be permanently saved.

Special thanks to this Tentmaker thread for inspiring the idea: https://tentmaker.org/forum/christia...d-upsets-many/

Therefore, a minimum of 8.333% of the angel population rebelled from these calculations on the verses
