All people shall believe in LORD Christ and therefore everyone will become believers in LORD Jesus to be permanently saved <3

Gossip is informalconversation, often about other people's private affairs.

It is good to expose the evil actions that people commit like with this Bible verse scenario

1 Timothy 5:20 ESV As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear

elegchó means “to reprimand and convict by exposing (sometimes publicly) a wrong.” end quote

We see that the word “gossip” is not used in the Bible, so the correct term is closer to “slander” which is what I rebuke today my friends

This site has a good comment about this

The word "gossip" doesn't actually appear in any of the original languages as there was no word for it. So other words have been translated into "gossip".

One Hebrew word that was translated to "gossip" in the NIV version is rāḵîl, which means a scandal-monger (as travelling about):—slander, carry tales, talebearer.

In the NT, the word only appears once in the NIV, and the word is translated from the Greek word psithyrismos, which means psíthos (a whisper; by implication, a slander; probably akin to G5574); whispering, i.e. secret detraction:—whispering.

So, getting out of the academic and into the practical, I think gossip means saying something about someone that is slanderous and intent to hurt their reputation.

So this is the gossip aka slander that should be avoided, because all slander hurts people’s reputation.

An example is at a call center that I worked at, where I would use Inspect Element and edit peoples comments to have them say things they did not actually say and screenshot these to send to others. Unfortunately, even though this was the wrong thing to do, I thought it was funny, so I spread this false information multiple times. This is the evil of slander and I rebuke myself for these sins of bearing false witness. Eventually I got laid off from the job. Perhaps if I was a more honest person back then, I would have kept this job? That is the evil that I expose of myself to you all today. I am a sinner who has committed many evil acts and I rebuke myself in the presence of you all so that you may stand in fear, reference to the scripture above. I am saved from my sins by faith alone in Christ. Though we are not saved by our own good works, it is still good to avoid evil, not to be saved, as that is faith alone in Christ, but simply because sin is bad and harmful to both yourself and others.

Ephesians 5:11 ESV

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

We know that exposing sin is good. So if I spread information wih evidence thats harmful to Vladmir Putin about how he'a a war criminal, such as with these articles:,articles%208(2)(a

Slander = the utterance of false charges or misrepresentations which defame and damage another's reputation

Slanderer is therefore a more accurate translation, and we can see the connect here:

Proverbs 20:19 NIV A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.

However, just talking a lot is not bad, it depends on whats being said . So a more accurate translation would be something like this:

the one who babbles

וּלְפֹתֶ֥ה (ū·lə·p̄ō·ṯeh)

Strong's 6601: To open, be, roomy, to be, simple, delude

Tells us that the word means specifically "delude" rather than talking so much.

Delude = to make someone believe something that is not true:

So a slanderer deludes people by making them believe things thats not true. Thus "gossip" when translated in the Bible, really refers to the sin of spreading a false report, where I say things that are fake about a person to damage their reputation.

Proverbs 19:5 ESV

A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape.

Exodus 20:16 ESV

“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
